At just 21 Will is one of the scenes fastest rising stars. He started DJing 6 years ago hailing Dutch imported trance as his main passion, and has since developed his own unique blend of driving melodic trance. Many are tipping Will as the ‘next big thing’ thanks to his “smooth technical mixing”(Dan Platten- Passion Promoter- Passion newsletter July 2003), style and excellent quality track selection, as well as his rising status as one of the best new producers in trance today.
Will has been a regular on the trance circuit since bursting on to the scene in January 2002 when he began DJing for GoodGreef ("Britains' Best Club" Mixmag Jan 2003) in Manchester and Wakefield where he plays alongside top names such as Airwave, Signum, Lisa Lashes, Eddie Halliwell, Andy Farley and Rob Tissera, to name but a few. Will headlined the opening of GoodGreef Wakefield in May 2002 alongside Lisa Lashes, and is no stranger to such high profile gigs. He made his debut at Midland’s super-club Passion in July and, thanks to his awesome set and the adoring crowd, he played again in October and will be playing regularly in 2004. Will has further residencies at Escape and Nocturnal (alongside Marc West and Andy Bagguley), both in Leicester, and plays regularly for new trance night Distortion, M.O.Tion in Nottingham, Baby Passion in Loughborough and The Engine in Coalville as well as numerous other venues around the UK.
Will also has his own live radio show, ‘Elevation’, airing weekly on Thursday nights between 10pm and 12 midnight on LSR FM (106.6fm Leeds). Will comprises the track listings, the weekly big tune as well as putting the sets together and regular guest mixes from some of the countries hottest talents. His style and talent has not gone unrecognised and has attracted the attention and support of many big name DJs. Will is also a regular on DI.FM, without doubt one of the leaders in internet radio, which has the biggest names in trance live 24 hours a day on the station. His recent guest mix on the Hotdecks show, showcasing many of his future releases for 2004, received almost 1000 posts from people as far and wide as Toronto and Hawaii singing his praises and querying release dates for his latest tracks. As a result he will be making regular guest appearances on the show throughout 2004.
Will Holland was initially trained drummer and violinist and decided to transfer his musical training to the studio where he has been producing and remixing under his own name and the pseudonyms ‘Satori’ and ‘Holla’ for almost 2 years. So far has remixed two tracks, one for Conception and one for Incentive as well as having completed a string of solo tracks and which are currently being given full support on radio and in the clubs by Paul Van Dyk, John 00 Flemming, Matt Hardwick, GTR, John Askew, Above and Beyond, Neo+Farina, Hemstock and Jennings, Richard Tulip, Adam Sheridan, Nick Riley, Andi Durrant, Marc West, Andy Bagguley and a long list of other top DJs. Gareth Emery (GTR) was so impressed with one of these solo tracks, Magicka, that he asked to remix the track for a major label release, which will be out in 2004. Will’s first release for 2004, however, will be Summer Breeze/Roccata which has been signed as a double a-side to Neo+Farina’s Hotdecks Recordings and will be released in January ‘04. Roccata and Magicka were recently reviewed in M8 Magazine and scored an incredible M7/M8, not bad for debut productions! Will has already completed the following two releases on Hotdecks and is remixing the latest Mixmag top tune, from Neo %26 Farina Ft. Tiff Lacey “The Eternal”. So watch this space!
Will Holland is one of the future stars of tomorrow and knows exactly what a crowd wants to hear which is helped along by a versatile and current repertoire. He has his own uniquely recognisable style and he adapts it in such a way as to guarantee to please an audience.
